Context of the Project
The Ladies Lounge had a strong potential for growth but struggled with being able to consistently arrange and post content to their social media accounts, as well as edit the podcast videos in a way that felt fluid and easy to watch. With a growing fan base they spoke with me to tackle the issue for them - within two weeks they had a set of three promotional videos for their social media build-up and I will now be editing their podcast episodes every week.
Problem to Solve
The biggest challenge was finding the right style and theme for the content, as well as finding a balance between what the client wanted and ensuring that money was left in their budget for any changes they might like. After extensive communication with both members of their team we found a variety of themes that they liked and eventually settled on their favourite.
Design Process
The project started with a structured approach - figuring out what the client needed, how quickly they needed it to happen and setting out realistic expectations for this kind of content creation. In this instance the client had deadlines they wanted to meet in regards to posting this content and as such, work began immediately. The process was fast but flexible in order to pin down the kind of video that the client wanted to achieve. As soon as the vision came together the rest was an efficient back and forth to ensure that they liked how the product was progressing and then delivering the final results. The design focused on:
Heavily featuring women and making them feel welcome.
Emphasizing the key topics that would be covered in the podcast.
Finding a colour scheme that the client liked and complimented their logo.
Testing multiple music backing tracks for the video to ensure it fit the vibe they wanted.
Result
The impact was immediate. Within three days of posting the video, The Ladies Lounge saw:
48% increase in follower count
37% turning on notifications for future posts
Significant engagement with the post that resulted in direct interactions between the client and their followers
By combining strategic design decisions with data-driven optimal posting times, we managed to drive significantly more traffic to the client's platform and increase their viewer count substantially.
